Our Focus
At AZDS, we are committed to advocacy and community outreach, working to protect and advance dermatologic care across Arizona. Members of our society also hold dual membership with the Phoenix Dermatology Society, which primarily focuses on events and educational opportunities. Together, we create a strong and unified voice for dermatology professionals in our state.

Meet our President Christopher Weyer, DO
Christopher Weyer, D.O., F.A.O.C.D., F.A.C.M.S., F.A.A.D.Board-Certified Dermatologist & Fellowship-Trained Mohs Surgeon
Dr. Christopher Weyer is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon dedicated to providing expert skin cancer care in Arizona.
An Arizona native, Dr. Weyer earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona, where he conducted research on prostate cancer growth, invasion, and metastasis at the Arizona Cancer Center and the Department of Pathology. He went on to earn his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006.
Dr. Weyer completed a traditional rotating internship at Richmond Heights Hospital in Ohio, followed by a dermatology residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in Mohs surgery at the Center for Surgical Dermatology in Columbus, Ohio.
In 2011, Dr. Weyer joined the Cleveland Clinic’s Dermatology and Plastic Surgery Institute as a Mohs surgeon before returning to Arizona to focus on skin cancer treatment. His contributions to the field were recognized in 2012 when he received the prestigious Tromovitch Award from the American College of Mohs Surgery for his research in skin cancer and Mohs surgery.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Weyer enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting, as well as maintaining an active lifestyle through CrossFit and soccer. He also has a passion for cooking and traveling.
