Dr. Christopher Weyer is a highly skilled and board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon with a focus on expert skin cancer care. With over a decade of experience in Mohs surgery and dermatologic oncology, Dr. Weyer is committed to providing exceptional treatment for skin cancer patients in Arizona.
An Arizona native, Dr. Weyer has a deep-rooted connection to the community. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona, where he made significant contributions to cancer research, particularly studying prostate cancer growth, invasion, and metastasis at the Arizona Cancer Center and the Department of Pathology. His dedication to advancing medical science continued as he pursued his medical degree at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 2006.
Dr. Weyer completed a traditional rotating internship at Richmond Heights Medical Center in Ohio, followed by a dermatology residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri. His desire for specialized training led him to the Center for Surgical Dermatology in Westerville, Ohio, where he completed a fellowship in Mohs surgery, refining his skills in skin cancer surgery and reconstructive techniques.
After his fellowship, Dr. Weyer began his career at the Cleveland Clinic's Dermatology and Plastic Surgery Institute in Ohio, where he served as a Mohs surgeon. There, he gained invaluable experience and contributed to cutting-edge research in the field. In 2011, he returned to Arizona, where he has since focused on providing state-of-the-art treatment for skin cancer patients. His expertise in Mohs micrographic surgery allows for the precise removal of skin cancers while preserving healthy tissue, resulting in optimal cosmetic outcomes.
Dr. Weyer’s research has been recognized by the American College of Mohs Surgery, which awarded him the Tromovitch Award in 2012 for his groundbreaking work in skin cancer and Mohs surgery. His commitment to advancing the field is reflected in his active participation in professional organizations such as the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.
In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Weyer enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including fishing and hunting, and maintains an active lifestyle through CrossFit and soccer. He is also passionate about cooking and traveling, which further enriches his life outside of medicine.
